Mrs. Arline C. “Sis” (Thomas) Thiry, age 92, formerly of Grill, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Berkshire Center in Exeter Twp.
She was the wife of the late Richard B. Thiry who died on September 3, 2012.
Born in Grill, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Mamie E. (Messner) Thomas.
Arline was a 1943 graduate of the former Shillington High School. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Grill and worked as a billing clerk at U.G.I. and Motor Freight Express.
Surviving is a daughter, Kathleen A., wife of L. Thomas Hornberger of Sinking Spring, PA; sons, Thomas G., husband of Charlotte E. Thiry of Stevens; Michael T., husband of Lisa J. Thiry of Grill; John R., husband of Suzanne L. Thiry of Wyomissing.
Grandchildren, Kasie, wife of Scott Seymour, Tommy Hornberger, Jason, husband of Becky Thiry, Joel, husband of April Thiry, Michelle, wife of Greg Frisby, Timothy Thiry, Andrew Thiry, Brendan Thiry, Erin Thiry.
Great Grandchildren, Olivia Seymour, Arline Seymour, Emily Thiry, Bryson Thiry, Saige Thiry, Iris Thiry, and Caleb Frisby.
She was predeceased by a sister, Pauline Sweigert.
The family would like to thank the staff of Genesis Health Care and Caring Hospice for the exceptional care offered to their mother.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton, PA.
Friends may greet the family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be in Christ Union Cemetery, Grill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Christ Yocom's Lutheran Church, 840 Philadelphia Avenue, Reading, PA 19607.
