Carolyn Mary (Bender) Snyder, 85, of Mohnton, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 2, 2017.

She shared 53 years of marriage with Harlen E. “Snit” Snyder before he died on March 19, 2006. 

Born on November 24, 1931, in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Mary Ellen (Ott) Bender.

During her 85 years of life, Carol found joy in spending time with her loving family, good friends, and faithful pets.  She and Snit spent many happy hours supporting their children and grandchildren in their sports and activities. She also enjoyed watching the Phillies and loved following her bracket for the NCAA tournament.   Carol was a member of the Women’s club and volunteered her time on the Playground association in Mohnton.  She spent most of her working years as a cashier in the family business, Snyder’s Store. 

Those she left behind to cherish her memory include her children, Cherlane M. Cotton  and husband Steven of York  and  David J. Snyder and wife Milena of Mohnton; granddaughters, Amanda L. Brumbaugh of York, Meredith L. McCauley and husband Michael of Hatfield; Blagovesta Stoeva of Mohnton; grandsons, Matthew S. Cotton and wife Erin of York; Andrew J. Snyder of Phoenixville; a sister Frances Yeity and husband Ronald of Reading; brothers-in-law Nevin Snyder of Mohnton, Barry Snyder and wife Linda of Shillington; sister-in-law Sherry Mosser and husband Larry of Shillington; and nieces and nephews.  Carolyn will also be missed by her five great grandchildren Caleigh, Ireland, Griffin, Hadlee,  Cash, and a new great grandchild due to be born in August.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton, with Father Richard Clement, officiating.

Friends may call to greet the family from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.
