Charles W. Kantner, 90, of Reading, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation in Reading.
He was the widower of Fay E. (Weidenheimer) Kantner who died on Sunday, June 5, 2011.
Born in Douglassville, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Sylvia (Kulp) Kantner.
Charlie was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during W.W. II. He was self employed for over 30 years owning the former Kantner’s Beer Distributor in Reading. He was a member of the former Saint Luke’s Evangelical Congregational Church in Shillington. He was family oriented and loved to travel.
Surviving are three children: Charles W., III, husband of Debbie L. Kantner of Lancaster, PA; David C., husband of Sunni Kantner of Bern Twp.; Sandra L., wife of Raynos C. Skwiat of Cumru Twp.; six grandchildren: David C., Jr., husband of Bree M. Kantner; Stacy L. Kantner; Jeremy C., husband of Crystal L. Kantner; Jonathan P., husband of Sara C. Kantner; Paige E. Hart; Amanda I., wife of Jory D. Reed; and eight great grandchildren: Lilliana, Alexis, Isabella, Jonathan, Joseph, Sophia, Aubree and Emsley.
Also surviving is a sister, Kathryn M. Kantner of Shillington.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Jerry and Marvin Kantner.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
