Welcome to the memorial page for

Charles E. Palm, Sr.

October 16, 2017

Charles (Dub) Palm, Sr. passed away quietly in his sleep October 16, 2017 at the home of his former daughter-in-law Barbara Palm, with whom he resided, with his little kitty guardian Calypso, by his side.

He was the widower of Grace M. (Spotts) Palm who died on March 9, 1990.

Born in Seyfert, Robeson Twp., he was the son of the late William J. and Emma L. (Moyer) Palm.

Charlie was known by many names. Dub, as close family and friends knew him, Handsome Charlie, Chuck, Pop Pop and perhaps his favorite, Poppy Palm.   He retired from Hershey Foods/Ludens, as a Supervisor retiring in 1989.  He proudly served in World War II as a Sea Bee and finally received long overdue wartime medals in January 2015.  He was a wonderful husband, Dad, father-in-law and Grandfather. Everyone who knew him knew what a special man he was. He always greeted you with a smile and a handshake and always had a great joke to tell.  He loved bowling and was a prominent figure at Berks Lanes. Handsome Charlie coached many generations of young bowlers who became friends whose graduations and even weddings he would later attend.  He will be dearly missed by all who had the honor to know and love him.  We would like to offer a special thank you to Trista and Hospice and Community Care for your loving care.

Surviving are children; Georgia C., wife of Guy Lombardo of Kenhorst; Charles E., Jr., husband of Nancy Palm of Newmanstown; and Kevin K. Palm of Shillington.

He is also survived by his former daughter-in-law, Barbara Palm of Kenhorst; sister, Manila Keiper of Shillington; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; and very close friend, Randy Seidel.

He was predeceased by a son, William Palm and nine siblings.
