Welcome to the memorial page for

John M. Carl

December 21, 1964 ~ November 20, 2017 (age 52) 52 Years Old

John Matthew Carl, 52, passed away on November 20, 2017 in his Sinking Spring residence surrounded by his loving family.

John was the loving husband of Erin (Reed) Carl, formerly of Scranton. John married his soul mate and best friend of 13 years on June 12, 2015.

Born December 21, 1964 in Reading, he was the son of John A. Carl and the late Christine (Katarzynski) Carl.

Known to his friends as “JC,” John was a 1983 graduate of the Wilson School District. He was employed by Pizza Hut for 25 years as a Manager and for the past eight years traveling the east coast as an Operations Specialist for Papa John’s Pizza, last working in October.

John loved to vacation any place there was a white sandy beach, a view of the ocean and a warm summer breeze. John especially treasured family vacations to the beaches of Sea Isle, NJ, making sure there was enough room for visiting family and friends.

Family and friends were an essential part of John’s life. Whether it was having “the crew” over for spur-of-the-moment cookouts, spending time splashing in the pool with his “little bud,” grandson Brodey, taking road trips to cheer on his Minnesota Vikings football team, going on golf excursions with his Dad and brothers, supporting his daughter, Victoria at gymnastic meets or simply spending quiet moments with his loving wife Erin, John was happiest when spending time with the people he loved.

Being a three-time cancer survivor, John lived every day to the fullest, never taking anyone or anything for granted. Even as John courageously fought his final battle, he put people around him before himself.

John was a member of the West Lawn Quoiting Association and the Sinking Spring VFW.

Besides his wife, John is survived by hisdaughter, Victoria (Carl) McFarland, wife of Timothy, Exeter Township, his four stepchildren, KathleenCescon, Chicago, IL; Patrick Cescon, Sinking Spring; Michael Cescon, State College; Timothy Cescon, Wyomissing and a grandson, Brodey McFarland.

He is also survived by his father, John A. Carl, Mohnton; three brothers: Kenneth, husband of Judith Herbstreith. Hellertown; Robert, husband of Sandy (Lutz) Womelsdorf; Mark, husband of Cathy (Ray), Sinking Spring; and a sister Theresa (Carl) Lienti, husband of Robert, Wernersville.
