Anita June Bohnsack Gray, 72, of Flying Hills, Cumru Township, Pennsylvania, died on December 11, 2018 at Mifflin Health Care Center, concluding a valiant 7-year journey with metastatic breast cancer.
She was born June 29, 1946 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph Bohnsack and Alice Scott Bohnsack. She graduated from Lapeer High School, Lapeer, Michigan; North Central College, Naperville, Illinois; and the University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon.
She was a dedicated and creative teacher in the public schools of Eugene, Oregon, for 30 years. In addition to her work, she enjoyed nature, writing, geocaching, games, and music. Anita was an active member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, Sinking Spring, PA, participating in ministries of music, children, and library. She played clarinet, piano, harp, and dulcimer.
Anita is survived by sister, Carol Adams and husband, James, of Mohnton, PA; brother Benjamin Bohnsack and wife, Marcia, of Marquette, Michigan; brother Joseph Paul Bohnsack, of Waxahachie, Texas; nieces, nephews, and many dear friends who became family to her.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7 PM on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, 4891 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring. Friends may greet her family from 6 PM until the time of the service.
