Dorothy M. Morse was a devoted wife and loving mother who resided with her daughter, Pamela Strunk and son-in-law, Francis Strunk, for the past 28 years in Sanatoga, PA.  She was very proud of her family and was “Grammy” to her 11 grandchildren and “Gaga” to 20 great-grandchildren.  Dorothy was born in Thurman, IA to Paul E. and Bessie M. Acord on December 20, 1921 and found her wings to take her place in heaven on April 27, 2017.

Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Harold E. Morse, devoted mother of Rick Morse and his wife Mary Morse; Pamela Strunk and her husband Frank Strunk, Mona McMurray and husband David McMurray, and her late son Mark Morse.  She was known as loving “Grammy” to her 11 grandchildren and honorary grandchildren to include Jim Morse, Ruth Ray, Rachelle Dyer, Laura Fisher, Dawn Strunk, Lori Ann Strunk-Olock, David Strunk, Cassandra Splittgerber, Travis McMurray, Lindsey Brault, Mikayla Crouch. 

Dorothy was very proud of her family.  She was known for being regal yet feisty; petite yet resilient with a contagious laughter and sense of humor that filled a room and the hearts of all those she held near and dear.  She lived a life dedicated to her family whom were both blood related and heart appreciated whose lives will be forever changed for the better through hearing her loving words, feeling her kind touch and being held in her sincere embrace. 

Family and friends will gather at the memorial service held in the Chapel at St. Theresa of Calcutta in Limerick for those in Pennsylvania on Friday, May 5th at 11:00a.m.  A celebration of life service will also be held in her honor at her final resting place in Council Bluffs IA on Saturday, May 20, 2017.  Doors open at 10:00a.m. for greeting opportunity with the service beginning at 11:00a.m. at the Walnut Hill Chapel and Reception Hall, 1350 E. Pierce St. Council Bluffs, IA 51503.
