Mr. Gerald A. Blankenbiller, Sr., 79, of Reading, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Manor Care in Laureldale.

He was the husband of Patricia A. (Hall) Blankenbiller.

Born in Cumru Twp., he was the son of the late Alison and Florence (Rettit) Blankenbiller.

Jerry retired from the Public Works Department in the City of Reading.  He enjoyed the great outdoors,   working on vehicles, but most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Paula J., wife of Thomas Zambito of Reading; Terry L. Racine of West Reading; Gerald A., Jr., husband of Melissa Blankenbiller of Hamburg; and step son, Joseph, husband of Janelle Glendye.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Christina Cooper, Thomas Zambito, Jr., Dylan Zambito, Brandon Racine, Samantha Racine, Sheyenne Blankenbiller, and Shalynn Blankenbiller; and sister, Patricia Blankenbiller and brother, Paul “Smokey” Blankenbiller.

He was predeceased by a son, Lee A. Bloom and a brother, Lee Blankenbiller.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Pennsylvania, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
