Gloria M. (Serafino) Eckert

Gloria M. (Serafino) Eckert, 87, of West Lawn, passed away on February 12, 2018 at the Reading Hospital. 

She was the widow of Robert R. Eckert who died on July 19, 2015.

Born in Douglassville, she was the daughter of the late Anthony R. and Elizabeth V. (Shindle) Serafino.

Gloria attended Sinking Spring schools.  She was a homemaker but also worked as a short order cook at the former Thomas’ Restaurant in Reading for over ten years.  She was a member of Saint John de la Salle Church in Shillington.   

Surviving are children, Gloria Jean (Eckert) Garcia, wife of Domingo Garcia Santiago of Muhlenberg Twp.; Lisa Ann (Phillips) Bonilla of Shillington; Charles J. Phillips, Jr. of Muhlenberg Twp.

She is also survived by siblings, Eugene C. Serafino, Vincent A. Serafino, and Theresa C. Moyer.

Eight grandchildren, Wendy Landis, Tina, wife of Brad, Jason Lee DeJesus, Melissa Marie, wife of David Rivera, Joshua Lee DeJesus, Jennifer Lynn Garcia, LuzAlishia Bonilla, and Tasha R. Bonilla.

Also surviving are 17 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by siblings, Anthony Serafino, Dorothy Concentino, LeRoy Serafino, and Paul Serafino.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton, with Deacon Joseph Lombardo, officiating.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
