Jason P. Rivers, 38, of Brecknock Twp., passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Reading Hospital after a long illness.

He was the husband of Amanda J. (Cooley) Rivers.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the Keith Rivers of Garland, TX, and the late Loren (Detweiler) Rivers.

Jason was a 1998 graduate of the Reading High School where he played football.  He graduated from Penn State and was employed by Brentwood Industries in Reading.  He was an avid race fan who drove   Dirt Modified Racing Car # 66 at the Bridgeport Speedway, Bridgeport, N.J. and the Big Diamond Speedway in Pottsville.  Jason was a big Miami Dolphins fan.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a brother, Kevin S. Rivers of Texas; and nieces and nephew, Skyasha Rivers, Mairalynn Rivers, Xavier Rivers, and Brielle Cooley.    He is loved and will be missed by all his extended family and friends.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. from the Wyomissing Church of the Brethren, 2200 State Hill Road, Wyomissing, PA, with Pastor Timothy P. Speicher, officiating.

Friends may call on Saturday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. to greet the family.

Interment will be private.
