Jeanne Elizabeth Adams, 48, of Collegeville died suddenly at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. She was born in West Reading, PA, on June 14, 1969, the beloved daughter of James H. Adams and Carol A. (Bohnsack) Adams. Jeanne graduated from Gov. Mifflin High School in 1987, received a B.S. in Chemistry from Lebanon Valley College in 1991, and M.S. in Chemistry from Lehigh University in 1994. She worked as a chemist for TEVA Pharmaceutical Industries, Sellersville, PA, for 16 years.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Mohnton, where she formerly sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She currently was a congregant, choir member, and volunteer of Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, Eagleville. She played viola in the Reading Philharmonic Orchestra. She volunteered at Gretna Glen Camp and Retreat Center, Lebanon, PA.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Susan C. Wendel Vattima and her husband, Timothy, Schwenksville; brother, David J. Adams and his wife Kristine, Paoli. Her nieces Laura K. Adams, Emily S. Wendel, Charlotte A. Wendel, and Isabel K. Adams received her constant love and care, especially during her years of disability.
Jeanne was a strong advocate for “Gift of Life” donation, having received two kidney transplants and working bravely to maintain her health for over 25 years. On-line, she offered encouragement to other persons experiencing renal failure.
Her family extends gratitude to the staff of the transplant and nephrology departments of Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, especially Dr. Umar Farooqand Dr. Nasrollah Ghahramani; the physicians of the Reading Nephrology Center; Dr. M. Cristina Frank; the staff of Pennsylvania Dialysis Center of Reading; and her many friends and extended family who supported her with love.
A service in celebration of Jeanne’s life will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church, 1 W. Wyomissing Ave., Mohnton, PA on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 7:00 PM with visitation beginning at 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Calvary United Methodist Church, 1 W.
