Mary V. (Murphy) Heilman, 99, of Brecknock Twp., passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017 at the Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Reading.

She was the widow of Mervin S. Heilman who died in 1996.

Born in Red Run, PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Elsie (Wise) Murphy.

Mary and her husband were the owners and operators of the former Heilman’s Gas Station and Bar in Brecknock Twp. for over 50 years.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing and was most known for her whistling.

She is survived by her son Jay Heilman of Reading and her daughter Myrna Good of Wyomissing.  She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, Ralph Heilman and her grandson Rodney Heilman, both in 2015.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Friday, September 8, 2017 at

10:30 a.m. from Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton.

A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Emmanuel Cemetery, Brecknock Twp.
