Merritt M. Kershner

Merritt M. Kershner, 79, of Shillington, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at his residence.

He was the husband of Judy A. (Mull) Kershner with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Paul and Florence (Calabrese) Kershner.

Merritt graduated from Reading High School.  Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving two years.  He enlisted in the Army reserves serving for years while working for Ciliberti Motors’    Horrigan Volkswagen, B.M.W. and Audi; and finally at Penske.  He was a car enthusiast and was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and served as a Trustee.    

Surviving in addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael M., husband of Donna J. Kershner of Sinking Spring; and Steven R., husband of Melinda A. Kershner of Lancaster.

Also surviving are two grandchildren, Mason M. and Dylan J. Kershner of Lancaster; a brother, Paul F., husband of Tazuko Kershner of Shillington; and a sister Emily M. Kershner of Whitehall, PA.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton, with Father Richard Clement, celebrant.

A viewing will held on Monday, August 27, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made in his memory to the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles, 85 S. Walnut Street, Boyertown, PA 19512.
