Mr. Nevin L. Snyder, 82, of Mohnton, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Manor Care in Sinking Spring.
He was the widower of Kathryn E. (Matz) Snyder who died on June 11, 2011.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Harlen H. and Evelyn M. (Erb) Snyder.
Nevin was a 1953 graduate of Mohnton High School. He was co-owner of Snyder’s Food Market in Mohnton until 1990. He retired from Weavers Market in Adamstown in 1997 where he worked as a meat cutter. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Mohnton Fish & Game Protective Association, Friendship Fire Company #2, Pennwyn Motor Association, N.R.A., Gouglersville Fire Company, Adamstown Rod & Gun Club, Arnot Sportsman’s Association of Tioga County, and was past President of the Red Rock Raiders Hunting Club of Tioga County.
Surviving are his children: Robert L. Snyder of Mechanicsburg and Elaine K. Snyder of Mohnton. Also surviving is a brother, Barrie R., husband of Linda Snyder of Sinking Spring and a sister, Sherelyn M., wife of Larry Mosser of Shillington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Harlen E. “Snit” Snyder in 2006 and his sister-in-law, Carolyn M. Snyder in 2017.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be in Mohnsville Cemetery, Mohnton.
