Norman F. “Jeff” “Smokey” Ebersole, 88, of Brecknock Twp., passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 at home.

He married Sara Jane (Horning) Ebersole on June 11, 1955.  She died on December 31, 2008.

Born in Dauberville, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel and Annie (Rodgers) Ebersole.

Smokey worked as a maintenance Supervisor at Interstate Container.  He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean War.  He was a member of the Robeson Lutheran Church in Plowville, the Gouglersville Grange and the V.F.W.  He was a lifetime member of the Grill Fire Co. and Brecknock Twp. Fire Co., where he served as Chief for nine years and held numerous other positions over the years.  He enjoyed hunting and gardening.

Surviving are four Children: Terry L., husband of J. Carol Ebersole of Martha, Kentucky,

Sherry A. (Ebersole), wife of Michael K. Lutz, Merry B. (Ebersole) Swavely, and  Jerry D., husband of Tracy L. Ebersole, all three of Brecknock Twp.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Jason A., husband of Nikki Lutz, Amy J., wife of Ryan Payne, Joel B., husband of Ashlee Lutz, Julie A. Swavely, fiancé of Josh Stinn, Zachary L. Ebersole, Scott S. Swavely, Austin D. Ebersole, Aidan C. Ebersole; and three great grandchildren, Shawn, Gavin and Payton.  He was the companion of Ada Peters.

He was the youngest and last surviving of six siblings.   

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from Robeson Lutheran Church, 3520 Plow Road, Mohnton, PA 19540.

A viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be private.
