Allen L. Guigley

Allen L. Guigley, 78, of Brecknock Twp., Lancaster County, passed away on Saturday March 31, 2018 at Wellspan York Hospital.

Born in Brecknock Twp., Berks County, he was the son of the late John F. and Fannie V. (Fryberger) Guigley.

Allen was employed by Gebhart’s Floor Covering of Mohnton, for 41 years.  He was a lifetime member of the Kenhorst Fire Company.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, working outside, woodworking, and could fix just about anything.  He will be deeply missed by his loving daughters and grandchildren. Perhaps his most important gift was being the best Poppop his grandchildren and great-grandchildren could have ever asked for.

He was a devoted father to Debbie L. Guigley of Mohnton; Wendy A., wife of Peter Burdick of Browns Mills, NJ; Sherry J., wife of Randy Farkosh of Ripley, WV; and Peggy S., wife of Lawrence Glass, Jr., of Mohnton.  He was grandfather to Megan E. Glass, Courtney A., wife of Eric Vonada, Melissa J. Guigley, Matthew A. Farkosh, Holly A. Farkosh, Olivia G. Burdick, and Michael T. Burdick.  Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Connor J. and Colton M. Vonada; brothers, John, husband of Helene Guigley of Lancaster; Carl, husband of Dianna Guigley of Lancaster; and sister-in-law, Dawn Guigley of Mohnton.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his former spouse M. Jeanne Guigley; his companion, Patricia Sabanos; and four siblings, brothers, Paul Shindel, Luther Guigley, Leon Guigley, and sister, Martha Kurtz.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Giles &Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton, with Pastor Marti Smith, officiating.

A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Allegheny Union Cemetery.
