Baron Dennis Strunk, 74, of Shillington, Pennsylvania, passed away at his home Wednesday January 26, 2022. He was born in the Reading Hospital. Barry, as he was known to his family and friends, was the son of Robert S. and Catherine B. (Stoner) Strunk. Baron was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mohnton, Pennsylvania.
He graduated from Gov. Mifflin Senior High’s Class of 1965. After graduation he attended Reading High School and Berks Vo Tech for advanced technical classes. After school Barry joined the US Army October 23, 1967 and started his service to our Country. He was assigned to the Army 52nd Signal Company as Specialist 4th Class. Heading to Ft. Benning, Georgia he entered into the Basic Parachute School. Next stop was VietNam. After serving his Tour of Duty, Specialist Strunk received an Honorable Discharge on October 23, 1969. Returning to his life back in the States, he was a Union Labor worker for Ted Smith’s Flooring where he was employed for many years.
Baron was loved and admired by many. He had talent and a love of dancing. He was often seen on Dick Clark’s American Band Stand, Jerry Blavet, live tv show on Steel Pier and various other dance venues around the area. His handsome good looks and his dancing ability will be remembered forever by so many.
He is survived by his son Jeffrey Strunk and his wife Kristin of Minersville, Pennsylvania and is also survived by his daughter Susan and her husband Nor Zeroual of Pottsville, Pennsylvania; grandsons Adam and Avery Zeroual of Pottsville; and a sister Gail wife of David Butler of Jacksonville, Florida.
Services and Memorial of Baron’s life will be held later this year by Giles and Yeckley Funeral Home, Mohnton, Pennsylvania. Internment of his ashes will be in the Mohnsville Cemetery, Mohnton, Pennsylvania.
