Bette A. (Shrom) Bateman

Bette A. Bateman, 75, of Wyomissing, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the Reading Hospital.

She was the wife of George J. Bateman, who died on Dec. 28, 2011.

Born in Ridley Park, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Grace (Province) Shrom.

Bette was a 28 years employee of the Rite Aid Corporation working at the Woodlyn, PA location.  She was a member of the Mosaic Church in Shillington.   Bette was an avid reader and loved to frequent libraries in our area.   She was a regular participant at PA Fitness, formerly Gold’s Gym.

Surviving are her children, Joseph A. (Christy) Bateman of Sumter, S.C.; Bonnie J. (Ricky) Kulp of Reading; Cynthia L. (David) DiRocco of Lehi, Utah and Tammy A., (Brandon) Dahms of Reading.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Linda Bateman of Folcroft, PA; Joseph Bateman of Bozeman, Montana; Matthew Bateman of Folcroft, PA; Melissa Bateman of Heidelberg, Germany; Sam Kulp, Fiancée of Alex Lowe, of Pottstown; Molly (Dylan) Byrne of Pottstown; Grace Dahms of Reading and Michael DiRocco of Lehi, Utah; and her siblings, Susan (Charles) French of Fairfax, VA and Paul (Patti) Shrom of Lancaster, PA.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton.  You may greet the family from 12 Noon to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Mohnsville Cemetery.
