Obituary

Betty Lou (Weidman) Lutz (a/k/a Baseball Grandma) died on January 16th at the age of 91.

Betty was born on December 17, 1931 in Marshall TX to Frank Howard Weidman and Lora Wyckoff Weidman, becoming the youngest of twelve children.  Betty moved to Shillington PA at the age of 22 when she married Lewis (Lewey) Robert Lutz, who predeceased her in December 1991.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her three children, Gordon Lutz, Tammy (Lutz) Charles and Timothy Lutz.  She loved music and played piano her whole life.  She also loved animals, most especially cats, and always had one on her lap (most recently Buddy 2).  Every squirrel, bird & stray cat in Shillington enjoyed the peanuts, birdseed & cat food she put out for them.  She also loved doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, watching game shows and bragging about her kids and grandkids.  In addition to her children, Betty is survived by her four grandchildren - Derek Lutz (Mandi), Alexander Charles (Justine), Madison (Lutz) Bartosh (Zac) and Ethan Charles - and her two great-grandchildren - Nova Lutz and Arius Bartosh.  She has one surviving sister, Rachel Wall, in Marshall TX, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by five brothers and five sisters.

There will be no funeral service, and burial will be private.
