Bruce Naugle Obituary

Bruce D. Naugle, 59, of Cumru Township, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at his residence after a very lengthy battle with juvenile diabetes and other complications. His health increasingly became a ‘cross to bear’ greater than he could manage.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late James H. Naugle and Donna L. (Fox) Naugle.

Bruce was a 1980 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School.  Also known as ‘Bicta’ or ‘Beast’, he attended Kutztown State College. Following his college years, Bruce worked at the R.M. Palmer Co. for 37 years performing various production jobs before retiring in 2020 due to health issues. For many years, he assisted his Father James with the Berks County Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, serving in numerous capacities as needed.  He also greatly cherished time spent with family and friends from get-togethers, reunions and holiday gatherings, to trips to the beach and so much more.  Wherever there was a party forming, one could almost always count on Bruce’s presence!  Quiet by nature, but very intellectual, Bruce often had well-developed observations and thoughts to share when he spoke.  He could also suddenly produce a sense of humor that could practically put a smile or laugh in anyone’s day.  Bruce also had quite a fondness for animals, house pets in particular.  He even had a record collection that could rival the average DJ!  Bruce was also very thankful to have seen many places throughout his lifetime while vacationing in the US or abroad.  He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shillington, PA and a former member of St. James Lutheran Church in Reading, PA, where he sang in their junior choir.  Bruce quietly took his faith very seriously throughout his life.

Surviving are a Brother Timothy M. Naugle, husband of Tina A. (Huyett) Naugle of Cumru Twp., two nephews Zachary R. and Ryan J., and a niece Paige N. Naugle, all of CumruTwp..

A funeral memorial gathering will be temporarily postponed due to family hardship until a more appropriate time.
