Carol Gottshalk Obituary

Carol E. Gottshalk of Reading, PA  passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the age of 82 at her home.  Carol was blessed to be cared for by four special, loving, & committed caregivers Wisline, Xiomara, & Fanta, & Cindy for over the last several years.  

Carol is the daughter of Wilbur J. Ferrant, Sr. and Elizabeth Hartman Ferrant and was the second oldest of the seven siblings. Wilbur J. Jr. (Bill), Ted, Susan, Elizabeth (Beth-predeceased), Richard, & Nina.  Carol was a loving and supportive mother to her daughter Nancy and her one granddaughter, Alexandria, and one grandson, MaKaio and her dearly loved 21 year old Main Coon cat, Freddie. 

Carol was Genuardi's first bookkeeper upon opening. (former family run supermarket )  in Sandyhill, PA after graduating from high school. Carol was employed by Dr, Dennis Segnere D.D.S. as a bookkeeper for his private practice and his businesses in Montgomery County, PA.   After moving to Tennessee in late 1980, Carol enjoyed helping children with developmental disabilities at the Daniel McKee School and enjoyed her life traveling and learning about the state of Tennessee for 10 years.  Carol loved football and for years her favorite team was the San Francisco 49ers and their quarterback Joe Montana.  Carol found pleasure in  volunteering her time and supporting non-profit organizations and their events, traveling,  Christmas & holidays and shopping, celebrating love ones birthdays & accomplishments, the ocean and walking the beach, broadway shows, concerts, listening to music, & dancing,  clipping coupons and making a penny squeak,  photography, gardening, caring for her cats Jack and Jillie for 18 years, and butterflies. 

Funeral arrangements and Interment will be private.
