Clarence K. Trupe, 91 of Shillington, passed away on April 4, 2024 at home surrounded by his family.
He was the husband of Bettie P. Trupe who died on March 16, 2020.
Clarence was a graduate of Wilson High School, where he excelled in basketball. For many years he played softball with the Mohnton Fire Company where he was known to be an excellent third baseman. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army 11th Airborne, during the Korean War. He was employed as a lineman at Med-Ed for 38 years and ended his career as a chief in charge of the crews. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; Calvary United Methodist Church in Mohnton; a Lifetime Member of the Sinking Spring Fire Company; the Victor Emmanuel Club and the Reading Berks County Old Timers Basketball Association.
Since his wife’s passing, he looked forward to his weekly rounds of golf at Chapel Hill with his men’s Wednesday night golf league where he built lifelong friendships. He also adopted his precious dog, Diamond. By taking walks with her in Thomas Gardens, he established many new friends. Most important to him were the times he spent with his grandsons, Christopher and Jeffrey, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond and friendship.
Born in Spring Twp, he was the son of the late Clarence T. and Roberta (Eberly) Trupe. surviving is his son, Dennis C., husband of Judy Trupe; grandsons, Christopher M., husband of Karen M. Trupe and Jeffrey T., husband of Megan K. Trupe. He was predeceased by a brother Harold, and two sisters, Arlene Kohler and Shirley Hess.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Calvary United Methodist Church, 1 W. Wyomissing Avenue, Mohnton, PA.
Friends may call to greet the family from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the church.
Interment will be private.
