Curtis Paul Swavely, affectionately known as Curt to his family and friends, passed away on March 5, 2025 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Curt was born to the late Samuel and Arlene Swavely on January 15, 1955.
Curt was a proud graduate of Boyertown High School, class of 1972. He resided most of his 70 years in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. His professional life was characterized by dedication and hard work, having spent many years at Stanley G. Flaggs and Superior Tube, where he was not only a valued employee but also a friend to many.
Family was the cornerstone of Curt’s life. He was a loving father to his daughters Staci Schmehl (wife of Matthew) and Stephanie Barnshaw (wife of Bradley) and a proud grandfather to his beloved grandchildren: Mea and Cooper Schmehl and Dara and Kilee Barnshaw. Curt shared a special bond with his older brothers Jay (husband of Jean), Edward (husband of Bonnie), and Harold (husband of Eloise) through his 70 years. He also had several nieces and nephews who he loved immensely. Along with his parents, Curt was predeceased by two brothers, Billy and Carl.
Curt was an avid sports fan, particularly the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He found solace and joy in spending time in the mountains with his brothers, nephews and his dog Rex. Curt’s love for his chocolate lab was a testament to his kind and caring nature. He believed in the loyalty and companionship that only a faithful pet could provide. Rex was a constant source of joy in his life.
As we say goodbye to Curtis Paul Swavely we celebrate a life of a man well-loved. His memory will live on in the hearts of his and friends. Curt’s journey on earth has ended, but his story will continue to be told by those who loved him most. May he rest in peace.
