David L. Schnader, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2024, at the age of 85 in Topton, Pennsylvania. Born on April 10, 1938, in Reading, PA, David lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his students, and his community.
David was the beloved husband of Jean M. (Ellis) Schnader, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories. Together, they raised a family that included their children, Kathleen Yankowski, Amy (Ray) Triano, Laura (Doug) Everette, Donna (Mike) Murray, and Steve (Alice) King. He took great joy in his role as a grandfather to Jason, Kyle, Ayla, Kurt, Anthony, Brian, Jonathan, Geran, Eden, Brandon, Joshua, Andrew, and Matthew, and was a proud great-grandfather to Sophia, Christopher, and Kassie. David was also a respected father-in-law to Wendy King. His legacy continues through the lives of his family, who cherished him deeply. Preceding him in death were his son, Chris King, and siblings, Lydian Dillard and Nile Schnader, who now welcome him with open arms.
A proud graduate of Governor Mifflin High School's class of 1956, David furthered his education at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his degree in 1961. His passion for education led him to a fulfilling career as a school teacher, where he influenced countless lives with his wisdom and kindness.
David was a man of faith and fellowship, an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mohnton. His commitment to service shone brightly through his involvement with the Mohnton Boy Scouts Troup #264, where he mentored young lives with patience and dedication. David also served his community as a lifetime member of the Cedar Top Fire Company, standing as a testament to his unwavering spirit of service.
As we bid farewell to David L. Schnader, we celebrate a life well-lived, a legacy of love, and the countless memories he leaves behind. His life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, dedication, and service, and his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his loved ones. David's journey on earth has concluded, but his spirit continues to light the way for those he touched. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. A Memorial Service, to be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mohnton, will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, PO Box 5, Mohnton, PA 19540.
