Dawn E. Guigley

Dawn Elaine Guigley, 94, of Mohnton, went home to be with Jesus on February 3, 2026.  She is now rejoicing in Heaven with her husband of 62 years, Leon Guigley, her father and mother, Thomas and Mabel Sparr, her sister and best friend, Shirley McGowan, her brother, John (Jack) Sparr, her daughter Cindy Guigley Machado and her great granddaughter, Mabel Grace Simpson.

Dawn was born on November 20, 1931 in Morgantown, PA.  She married Leon V. Guigley on September 18, 1948.  She lived in their family home in Alleghenyville, which she and her husband built together, for 77 years.  Dawn was a skilled seamstress and entrepreneur.

Dawn was passionately active in service and ministry her entire life.  She was a member of the Alleghenyville U.C.C. and Calvary Evangelical Church of Pennwyn.  She was also a member of the Brecknock Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for over 50 years and was often found in their kitchen serving her infamous soup.    

Dawn is survived by three children, Judy Ann, wife of Ed Zeigenfuse, Lori Jean, wife of Dean Simpson and Michael Leon, husband of Greta Guigley.  Dawn is also survived by five grandchildren:  Jacob, Benjamin and Noah Simpson and Hunter and Marina Guigley.  Five great grandchildren filled her final years with great joy:  Elaine, Ivy, Ryleigh, Olive and Otto Simpson.  Dawn has three surviving siblings:  Joan Marie Strouse, Larry Sparr and Susan McMullen.

Dawn was a devout believer and prayer warrior.  There were three things in her life that were most important to her:  family, friends, and her love for her Heavenly Father.  She will be missed by so many, but all can be assured that Heaven gained an angel the day she left us here on earth.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the Alleghenyville United Church of Christ, 1219 Kurtz Mill Road, Mohnton.

Her funeral service will start at 10:30 A.M. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Philadelphia in memory of Mabel Grace Simpson.
