Dennis H. Hatt

Dennis H. Hatt, 84, of Cumru twp., passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Carolyn M. (Helbig) Hatt.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Herbert and Edith (Horning) Hatt.

Dennis was a 1956 graduate of the Governor Mifflin High School.  He went on to graduate from the Wyomissing Polytech Institute, now Penn State.  He co-owned and operated Gibbons & Hatt Surveyors.   Later he joined Spotts, Stevens and McCoy in Wyomissing, retiring from there.  He also owned and operated Denlyn Land Development Company for many years.  He was on the Cumru Twp. planning commission for many years and served other Township’s as their Engineer and Inspector.  Dennis was an avid golfer and loved to play at Heidelberg County Club.  He was a longtime drummer in the Johnny Schmuker German Band.  He and Carolyn loved to vacation in Florida during the winter.   

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Jennifer H. Leibowitz (Scott D.) of Mohnton; and his granddaughters, Lauren A. and Madelyn H. Leibowitz. 

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Graveside Service on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.
