Donald W. Groff

Donald W. Groff, 96, of Brecknock Twp., passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Mifflin Center.

He is the husband of Patricia M. (Fry) Groff.

Born in Brecknock Twp., he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Ella M. (Bowman) Groff.

Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Navy C.B.’s serving during W.W II.  He was a Carpenter and an employee of Burkey Construction Company, working much of his time for Mr. & Mrs. Roger and Kathy Penske.  He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Carpenters for 55 years; a member of the Shillington American Legion Post 635, the Reinholds V.F.W. Post 6759 and the Mohnton Rod & Gun Club. 

Surviving, in addition to his wife are: son, Barry D. Groff, husband of Donald Zauck of Sinking Spring; daughter, Donna A. Uribe, wife of Jose of Florida and sisters, Ethel A. Depue and Connie A. Hollinger.   He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur A. Groff and sister, Joyce McLaughlin.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
