Dorismarie (Gift) Rowe

Dorismarie (Gift) Rowe of Mohnton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, at the age of 97, in Ephrata, PA. Born on April 4, 1928, in Reading, she was the cherished daughter of the late Oliver and Eleanor Gift. Dorismarie grew up in Mohnton and graduated from Shillington High School. She went on to earn her degree from Albright College. Dorismarie was the devoted wife of the late John Rowe, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure. Together, they traveled the world, creating treasured memories with friends and grandchildren. A talented musician, Dorismarie served as the organist for St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mohnton and found great joy in music. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Wahl; her grandchildren, Patrick Schappell and Shannon (Schappell) Merrick; and her great-grandchildren, Patrick Schappell II, Sean Schappell, Andrew Merrick, and Joseph Merrick. Dorismarie was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness and warmth touched all who knew her. A memorial service honoring both Dorismarie and John Rowe will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Calvary United Methodist Church, 1 W Wyomissing Ave, Mohnton, PA 19540.
