Eileen M. Sheidy, aged 57, of Reading, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024 at the Reading Hospital.
She was born in Reading on May 25, 1967, to the late Harry F. and Mae B. (Reigel) Sheidy, Eileen lived a life marked by warmth, dedication, and a spirit of generosity that touched everyone she knew.
Eileen, a proud alumna of Reading High School's class of 1985, carried the values of her education throughout her life. She was well-known for her kind-hearted nature, her readiness to lend a helping hand, and her unwavering commitment to her family and friends.
Family was the cornerstone of Eileen's world. She is survived by her loving brothers, Michael A. Sheidy and his wife Julie of Womelsdorf, and Thomas I. Sheidy of Sinking Spring. Eileen's life was enriched by the presence of several aunts and uncles who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her sister, Pamela G. Metz, who is survived by her husband, John Metz. The bonds she shared with her siblings were unbreakable, and the stories of their times together will be retold with laughter and love for years to come.
She navigated life's challenges with grace and always found a way to see the beauty in every day. Eileen's optimistic outlook and her ability to find joy in the simplest of pleasures were an inspiration to many. In her memory, we carry forward the lessons of kindness, the importance of family, and the belief that every individual has the capacity to make a difference in the lives of others. Eileen M. Sheidy's journey through life was a testament to the enduring power of love. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy will continue to light the way for all who knew her.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a service starting at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ken Ogden, officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
