Ernestine A. Krick

Ernestine A. Krick, 84, of Bern Township passed away at Berks Heim in the early morning hours of Wednesday March 23, 2022 after a brief illness.   She was the loving wife of Richard D. Krick before his passing on August 31, 1990.  Born on February 21, 1938 in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clifford A. and Bertha P. (Spuhler) Rienecker.

After graduating from Governor Mifflin High School, she worked at American Casualty, owned and operated Krick’s Sporting Goods alongside her husband Richard, the March of Dimes and most recently served as Judicial Coordinator for the Honorable Peter W. Schmehl.

Ernie, as she was known to her family and friends, was a devoted and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She had many lifelong friends and made new friends everywhere she went. She enjoyed the beach, traveling to New York City and country line dancing. She loved listening to music, especially classical, and dining out with family and friends. Her kindness and positivity will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Tim Koharcheck of Muhlenberg, brother Carl Rienecker of Kenhorst, nieces Elizabeth, Ellen, Debra and Diane, nephews Carl Jr., Ian, David, Peter and Bruce. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Stephan Paul Krick.

A visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 10:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton, PA 19540.
