Fern M. Mosser

Fern M. (Swartz) Mosser, 94, of Wernersville, passed away at Phoebe Berks on Sunday July 7, 2024.

She was the wife of Richard “Dick” A. Mosser with whom she shared 73 years of marriage.

Born in Cumru Township, she was the youngest daughter of the late Clayton K. and Candace M. (Boyer) Swartz.

A graduate of the former Mohnton High School, Fern worked over 30 years at Mohnton Knitting Mill.  Family always came first for Fern; she supported her husband & children in everything they did, and participated with them skiing, bicycling and enjoying many family events.  Fern was a past president of the Mohnton Women’s Club, and was one of the key founders of the Mohnton YMCA.  After retiring, Fern & Dick attended 35 Elder hostels; and both were very active working out at their local gym and riding their tandem bike with friends.  Fern & Dick delivered Meals on Wheels for over 20 years.  Fern was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mohnton.

Fern is survived by her husband and four children: Robin M., wife of Rick Pfleger, of Cumru Twp.; Richard S., husband of Michele Mosser of Aliquippa, PA; Alan D., husband of Cindy Mosser, of Henderson, NV; and Mark C., husband of Susan Mosser, of Denver, PA.  She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Fern was predeceased by her daughter Melinda M. “Lindy”, wife of Larry M. Graeff; and by her six siblings Edna, Harry, Paul, Pauline, Mabel & Arlene.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Friday July 26, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. at the Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home, 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton.

Friends may visit to greet the family from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
