Obituary

Frederick D. Schugardt, 85, of Kenhorst, passed away on January 22, 2023 at the Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with his wife Denise by his side.

He grew up in Hazleton, Pennsylvania to a large family of many brothers and sisters. After high school he went into the US Army and was honorably discharged as a military police officer. After the military, Fred came to Reading Pennsylvania where he spent a very long career in retail.  Many new him from the Two Guys store in Shillington as a store manager.  He ended his work life at Threshold Rehabilitation Center where he met his wife, Denise.  If you knew Fred you knew his love for the outdoors and how much he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He and his family spent every summer visiting the Shores of Delaware and Ocean City Maryland. He could often be seen out fishing and clamming in the Indian River bay.

Fred is survived by his wife Denise Schugardt, his daughters Jodi Sech (John Sech) and Jill Schugardt.  He was always very proud of his two grandchildren, Alex Sech and Sammantha Sech.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Sandra Schugardt.

The family is planning a memorial luncheon on April 14, 2023. For details please contact the family.
