H. Ernest Worley

Mr. H. Ernest Worley, 93, formerly of Newmanstown, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Phoebe Berks Home in Wernersville.

He was the widower of Betty M. (Seifert) Worley who died on March 1, 2017 after they shared 68 years of marriage.

Born in Mohnton, he was the son of the late James E. and Minnie I. (Snyder) Worley.

Ernest graduated from the Mohnton High School in 1942.  He served in the Civil Service during W.W.II as a Radio Mechanic working on Radar at Hickam Field at Pearl Harbor from 1944 to 1946.  He retired after 42 years of service from Occidental, formerly the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, in Pottstown as a Maintenance Technician.  He was an active member of Zion E.C. Church in Mohnton where he was the Sunday school treasurer for 25 years and served on various governing boards for many years.  He was a former member of the Governor Mifflin School Board for 18 years.  

Surviving are children:  Glenn D., husband of Carol E. Worley of Cumru Twp.; Dennis J., husband of Anne E. Worley of Stevens; Dale H., husband of Cindy S. Worley of Robesonia; and Cheryl P. wife of David A. Englehart of Shillington.  He is also survived by grandchildren; Kristen, wife of Mark DiCello, David, husband of Tammie Worley, Marcia, wife of Douglas Sewell, Jason, husband of Holly Worley, Adam, husband of Megan Englehart, and Beth Worley; six great grandchildren; sister, Miriam L. Kern of Mohnton.  

He was predeceased by one brother, Wendell P. Worley.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, 57 N. Church Street, Mohnton, with Pastor Robert W. Shuey, officiating.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
