Irwin Moyer, Jr. Obituary

Irwin R. Moyer, Jr., a veteran of the Army, affectionately known as Irv to his friends and family, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 6, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on August 10, 1944, Irv grew up in Temple. He was predeceased by his first wife, Donna (Heebner), and his son, Jonathan.  His heart found love again, and he was blessed with a second marriage to Victoria (Saylor), who survives him.

Irv's life was marked by his jovial spirit, his creative genius, and his boundless generosity. His laughter was contagious, and his ability to find humor in everyday situations was a gift that he shared freely, brightening the lives of all who knew him. Irv was a devoted family man, bringing warmth and joy to his children, Joseph and his wife Stephanie, Lisa Parznik and her husband Steven, Lorraine Porter and her husband Timothy. His grandchildren, Callan, Alexandra, Zachary, Tori, Joshua, and Jeremy, will remember their grandfather as a beacon of fun and creativity, someone who could always be counted on for a clever joke or a helping hand. He also leaves behind 8 great-grandchildren, with another one on the way.

A man of many talents and interests, Irv spent his professional life contributing to the growth and success of several companies in his community, including Prestolite Battery Co., Quaker Maid Kitchens, and Bonfitto, Inc. His colleagues knew him as a dedicated and hardworking individual, often going above and beyond to ensure the job was done right.

Beyond his work, Irv was passionate about baseball, a sport he both played and watched with enthusiasm. His love for the game was evident in the way he spoke about his favorite teams and players, and he found great joy in passing this passion down to his children. Irv was also an avid collector. His woodworking skills were nothing short of remarkable, resulting in beautiful pieces of furniture and art that his family will cherish forever.

Irv's life was a testament to his creative spirit, his ability to bring laughter to any situation, and his unwavering commitment to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his legacy will live on in the many lives he touched with his generosity and his creativity.

As we say farewell to Irv, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and the joy of creating. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us to approach each day with a generous heart and a creative mind. Rest in peace, Irv. Your spirit will forever be a part of the family who loved you.
