He worked at Shillington Restaurant, Baldwin Brass and many years at Sturgis Pretzels in Reading, PA.Jimmy loved his family, fishing, racing and the farm in Virginia where his father grew up. He was a man who enjoyed working with his hands, from cooking to working on cars. He loved going to Maple Grove Raceway and had a passion for anything with an engine. He will be remembered for his love of cats, especially his first cat Nicky.
Jimmy was a rolling stone who loved meeting new people. He never met a stranger. Once you started talking to him, he considered you a friend. His kind disposition and easy smile made you instantly like him. He had an uncanny ability to remember conversation details, people and faces. Once you met Jimmy, you were never forgotten. No matter how little he had to give, he was always generous and thoughtful. Jimmy always remained positive and was determined to make the best of any situation. Unfortunately, the challenges of this world became too difficult a burden to bear. But there is never truly an ending. Every sunset is followed by a sunrise and Jimmy’s restless soul is finally free and at peace.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like if you could pay it forward on Jimmy’s behalf by sending donations to the Hope Rescue Mission or Opportunity House. And to honor Jimmy today, please show someone an act of kindness, help someone down on their luck or just smile at a stranger.
