James Victor Sancuk, affectionately known as Jim, passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 77, after a prolonged illness. Born on August 15, 1947, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Jim's life was characterized by his sense of adventure, generosity, and handy craftsmanship. He departed this world peacefully in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, surrounded by the love and memories of his cherished family.
Jim served his country honorably as a Vietnam veteran, an experience that shaped much of his outlook on life. His courage and sense of duty were evident in all his endeavors. Following his military service, he dedicated himself to a career as a sheet metal worker, where his skillful hands contributed to numerous projects over the years. He was a proud member of the sheet metal workers' union.
Survived by his loving daughter, Katherine Sancuk, Jim was a devoted father whose generosity knew no bounds. He took immense joy in supporting Katherine's passion for horses and often spent his time watching horse races with her by his side. His sister, Sandra Corsetti, will fondly remember Jim as a protective and caring brother who was always ready for a new adventure. His nephews, Christopher and Daniel Corsetti, will cherish their memories growing up with Uncle Jimmy.
Jim's life was filled with the need to travel, and the ability to fix just about anything. Friends and family alike will miss his generous spirit, which was as large as his personality. He was a man who lived life on his own terms and made the most of every opportunity.
Jim's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him. His influence on the lives he touched will not be forgotten, and his memory will remain a guiding force for those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
We bid farewell to a loved and doting father, a loved brother and uncle. James Victor Sancuk, Jim to his friends and family, will be remembered with fondness, love, and immense gratitude for the countless moments of joy and laughter he brought into our lives. His journey on this earth may have ended, but his spirit will forever gallop in the fields of our memories, as enduring and spirited as the horses he so dearly loved.
A memorial will be scheduled in Brighton, Massachusetts for his family and friends to celebrate his life during the spring of 2025.
