James H. Strausser, 86, of Mohnton, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at the Reading Hospital. He was the son of the late George and Alma (Labell) Strausser.
James graduated from Governor Mifflin High School. After graduation he joined the Army serving in Korea. He worked at Hoffmans Foundry. He was the owner and operator of James Strausser Tree Service.
James was a member of many community organizations. He was a Past President of Gouglersville Fire Company, a Trustee of Friendship Fire Company in Mohnton. He was a lifetime member of the Mohnton Rod & Gun Club and the Reinholds V.F.W. James was on the Board of Directors and Trustees of the Adamstown V.F.W. and the Vice President and Trustee of the Mohnton V.F.W.
James is survived by his wife, Janet (Logan) Strausser. He is also survived by his daughters, Lisa Youndt and Lori Yohn and stepson Bradley Miller, and five grandchildren, Rachel, Amanda, TJ, Maggie and Lisha and six great grandchildren.
James was predeceased by a son, James "Skip" Strausser, a daughter, Louann, one brother and one sister. He is also predeceased by a grandchild, Zachary
After a private burial, relatives and friends are invited to the Gouglersville Fire Co. Banquet Hall, 475 Mohns Hill Road, Sinking Spring, PA 19608, on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 1pm to 3pm for a time of rememberance and fellowship with the family.
