Janet A. Yeich

Janet A. Yeich, a loving, faith-filled, and selfless Christian woman, was born on December 18, 1939, in Mohnton and passed away on May 27, 2026, in Reading.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Howard and Minerva (Whiskeyman) Blankenbiller, and she was raised with the values of faith, kindness, and devotion that guided her throughout her life. Janet graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 1959, and she carried the lessons of her youth with grace and dignity into every season of her life. Her steady spirit, warm heart, and gentle manner touched all who knew her, and she will be remembered for the quiet strength with which she lived each day.

Janet was a devoted member of Zion E.C. Church in Mohnton, where her Christian faith was an important part of her life. She found comfort, purpose, and fellowship in her church family, and she lived her beliefs through the way she cared for others. Her life reflected a deep trust in God, and she was an example of humility, compassion, and steadfast love. Those who worshiped alongside her and those who knew her outside the church will remember her as someone who lived her faith sincerely and without pretense.

She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Reading Commandery No. 9 Knights Templar in West Reading, where she shared in fellowship and service with others. Janet valued the friendships she formed through her involvement and appreciated the sense of community that came from being part of a group devoted to helping and supporting one another. Her presence was always a blessing, and she contributed with a generous heart and a willing spirit.

Janet had a lifelong love for animals and was an avid animal lover. Over the years, she raised a variety of cats and dogs, and she also cared for her horses with devotion and affection. Her animals were a source of joy to her, and she gave them the same tenderness and patience that she extended to her family and friends. Her love for God’s creatures was yet another reflection of her gentle nature and her compassionate heart.

She is survived by her children, Deborah E. Strauss, Alice K. Bowers, wife of Jack Bowers, and Keith H. Kerns, husband of Stacey Kerns. She was a proud and loving grandmother to David, Heather, Ashley, Matthew, Kelsey, and Elizabeth. She also leaves behind two great-granddaughters and one great-great-grandson, each of whom brought her great happiness and pride.  She is also survived by a brother, Roy H. Blankenbiller.

Janet’s family was one of the greatest blessings in her life, and she cherished each of them deeply. She found joy in the love of her children, the laughter of her grandchildren, and the growing legacy of her great-grandchildren. Her family will forever remember her for her devotion, her encouragement, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. The memories she created will remain a comfort and a treasure to those who loved her most.

Though she has departed this earthly life, Janet’s faith assures us that she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord. Her earthly journey was marked by love, service, and steadfast belief, and her memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness and kindness that will not be forgotten.

Janet A. Yeich will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family, church family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in the eternal peace of God’s care.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 10:30 A.M. from Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home, 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton, with Pastor Jayme Babczak, officiating.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Mohnsville Cemetery in Mohnton.
