Joann L. Haas

Joann L. (Showers) Haas, beloved mother to five children, 60 years old, born on March 08, 1964, in Reading, Pennsylvania passed away in Reading Hospital on Friday night January 10th, 2025, leaving a void her family cannot fill. 

She was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on March 8, 1964 to parents John ‘Butch’ and Florence ‘Kitty’ (Templin) Tolland. Joann enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She graduated from Reading High and further studied at RACC before spending the majority of her career as a Retail Manager where she mentored and influenced many young employees. Joann’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her beloved grandchildren and watching them grow. 

Joann is pre-deceased by her parents Butch and Kitty Tolland, brother Norman Showers, child Christopher Alan, and grandson Jax Fenstermacher. She is survived by four daughters: Desiree Krick (wife of Charles Krick), Jennifer Fenstermacher, Melanie Ortlip-Mull, and Amanda Ortlip (life partner of Andrew Shaaber); 8 grandchildren: Drake, Eliza, Lily, Ellianna, Alexandria, George, Benjamin, and Cameron; 4 great-grandchildren: Jaxson, Wesley, Fletcher, and Athelia; 5 siblings: Roseann Showers, Donald Showers, John ‘Butch’ Showers, Stacey (Tolland) Millisock, John ‘Little John’ Tolland. She also leaves behind several more cherished family members and friends that she loved deeply. 

Celebration of life will be held Saturday March 29th at Deer Lake & West Brunswick Fire Company located at 1 Ash Road Deer Lake, PA 17961. Further information regarding the Celebration of Life will be shared through a Facebook Event.
