John A. Guigley, 94, formerly of Brecknock Twp., passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the Lancaster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster.
He was the husband of Helene P. (Roedel) Guigley, who died on October 10, 2021.
Born in Alleghenyville, he was the son of the late John A. and Fannie (Fryberger) Guigley.
John was a self employed carpenter. He attended Allegheny Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his hunting trip to Canada and hunting at his camp in Columbia County and fishing at Hunter’s Lake in Sullivan County, PA. He was a member of the Adamstown Fish and Game Club. Most of all, John enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are three children: David F., husband of Shannon A. Guigley of Lancaster; John A., husband of Deborah L. Guigley of Brecknock Twp. and Christina D., wife of Walter L. Gehman of Brecknock Twp.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Michael D., husband of Jennifer Guigley; Amanda D. Plasterer; Christopher J., husband of Jinger Guigley; Jennifer L., wife of Brian Schmidt; Heather A., wife of John Stauffer; Ashley T. Russo and Thomas L. Gehman; seven great grandchildren and one brother, Carl, husband of Diane Guigley of Lancaster.
He was predeceased by his parents, a grandson, Marcus Guigley and siblings, Luther, Leon and Allen Guigley and Martha Kurtz.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton, with Pastor Zach Labach, officiating.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Allegheny Union Cemetery.
