Joseph Zatratz

Mr. Joseph Zatratz, 78, of Mohnton, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the residence of his daughter after a year long illness.

He was the husband of Theresa S. (Ernst) Zatratz who died on January 2, 2020.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John and Mary Zatratz.

Joseph attended Central Catholic and Reading High Schools.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army service during the Vietnam War.  He later retired from the Pennsylvania National Guard after 20 years of service.  After Vietnam, he went to work for the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Pottstown until their closure in 1980.  He then went to work for the Commonwealth of PA working at various hospitals in the state until his retirement.  He was a member of Saint John the Baptist de la Salle Church in Shillington.

Surviving are two daughters, Danielle L. Zatratz and Denise L. Zatratz, partner of Christopher G. Raab; two granddaughters, Amanda A. and Ashlie A. Kline, all of Mohnton. 

He was predeceased by a son, Joseph R. Zatratz in 1968, three brothers and two sisters.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton.  There will be no Funeral Service, and the Interment will be private.
