Judith L. (Shirk) Kurtz

Judith L. (Shirk) Kurtz, 78, of Flying Hills, Reading, PA passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 at the private residence of her family.

Born in Reading and a longtime resident of Mohnton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Homer D. Shirk and June C. (Watts) Shirk.

Judy worked for the Governor Mifflin School District for more than 25 years. She was passionate about art, gardening, animals (her cats), watching the birds, reading, colorful sneakers, and loved nothing more than going with her family to Boehringer’s for a cone of chocolate chip ice cream.

Surviving are daughters, Kelly A. Kurtz-Colone, wife of Dean; and Stacey D. Mon, wife of Ronald. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, 21 Chestnut St, Mohnton, PA. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at 11:30 am at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown, PA.
