Julie Wertz Obituary

Julie Grace Wertz, passed away peacefully on September 29th, 2023, in Pottsville, PA, due to a heart attack. Born on January 24th, 1975, in Reading, PA, she was a cherished daughter, caring sister, devoted mother, and a loving fiancée.

Julie was the beloved daughter of Dawn Sitler and Dennis Wertz, and the treasured stepdaughter of Steve Sitler and Aileen Wertz. Julie was the loving mother to her late son, Travis Wertz, Grandmother to Chase Regetta and the devoted fiancée of Dennis Butz.  She is also survived by her sister Anna Zittle, step sister Holli Castro and step brother Scott Sitler, all of whom have been left to cherish her memory.

Julie was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School.  After graduation, she dedicated her life to the care of the elderly. Her work as a caregiver was a testament to her selflessness and compassion, traits that were recognized by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Julie had a deep love for her dog, Radar. Her bond with Radar was a perfect reflection of her nurturing and loving nature. Radar brought her immense joy, companionship, and comfort, and she treated him as an integral part of her family.

In addition, Julie had a passion for cooking.  She found joy in preparing meals for her fiancée.  She loved to be creative always finding new recipes to try.  Julie enjoyed poetry and often found outlets in expressing her thoughts and feelings through her written words.

Julie's life was a testament to her thoughtful, loving, and selfless nature. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and had a knack for making people feel valued and loved.

Julie’s memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched with her warmth and generosity. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all those she touched.  Her son, Travis Wertz, preceded her in death, and their reunion is a bittersweet consolation to those left behind.

We celebrate her life and the joy she brought to ours, grateful for the time we had with her.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Fivepointville Fire Company, 1087 Dry Tavern Rd, Denver, PA 17517 on Saturday October 14th.  There will be a greeting period from 2:00 to 3:00 to offer condolences followed by a few words at 3:30 and a meal prepared by family and friends.
