Kathryn Garipoli-Frantz Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Kathryn M. Garipoli-Frantz on August 17, 2025, in her home at the age of 61. Born on September 28, 1963, in Reading, PA, Kathryn graced the lives of many with her infectious spirit and unwavering generosity. She was the beloved daughter of Gloria Lerch and was preceded in death by her father, Edward Pachilis.

Kathryn is survived by her three devoted children: daughter, Misty Guard (Ryan); son, Douglas Garipoli (Amanda); and Darci Garipoli (Moira).

Kathryn took immense pride in her role as a grandmother, and her greatest joy stemmed from spending quality time with her loved ones. Particularly her eight cherished grandchildren: Alexander; Olivia; Dante; Grace; Marcus; Andrew; Lynn and Enzo.

All of whom were the light of her life and the recipients of her boundless affection.

She is also survived by her three siblings, Kim, Sherri Lynn and Andre; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who were all touched by her kindness and warmth.

Friends and family will fondly remember her as someone who could effortlessly turn a "frown upside down." Kathryn often reassured her children and grandchildren with heartfelt words: "angels on your pillows as you sleep tonight" and "love you to the moon and back, times infinity." These words will echo in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

A free spirit at heart, Kathryn's artistic soul found expression in creating beautiful artwork. She was an enthusiastic soufflé chef, proud of her culinary skills. She held various other positions throughout her life. Among them, her most distinguished role was as a civil engineering survey technician. She poured her heart into every task she undertook, and it reflected her passion for life.

Kathryn had a unique ability to uplift those around her, and many would describe her as a person with a selfless heart who loved deeply. Her enduring legacy is one of hope and support, as she was always searching for ways to bring joy to anyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Kathryn had a zest for life that was contagious, and those who knew her understood her bold, vibrant spirit. She relished basking in the sun and feeling the cool ocean breeze, swimming and listening to music. She enjoyed savoring her favorite foods, which included pizza, cheesesteaks, pastelitos, empanadas, and a variety of Italian cuisine. Her warmth and laughter filled every room she entered, and her spontaneous spirit encouraged others to embrace the beauty of life's simple pleasures.

Her family will hold a private service to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations to assist the family with expenses may be made directly to the Reading Cremation Society.

As we mourn the loss of Kathryn M. Garipoli-Frantz, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived, which was full of love and the profound impact on the countless lives she touched. Her departure has left a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will forever remain in our hearts and as a guiding light and inspiration to those she leaves behind. Her memory serves as a reminder to love fiercely, embrace spontaneity, and live life to the fullest. Rest in peace, dear Kathryn; you will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
