Lester Blankenbiller Obituary

Lester C. Blankenbiller passed away in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center on August 25, 2024, in Reading, PA after a lengthy illness. Born in Blandon, PA on December 16, 1939, Lester was the son of Leroy and Viola Blankenbiller.  He enjoyed over 50 years of marriage to his spouse Barbara (Raezer) Blankenbiller, who preceded him in death in 2020.

A lifelong resident of Brecknock Township, Lester was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School.  He enjoyed a long career as an automotive mechanic, working at Sears Auto, Crest Trucking and Tom Masano Ford, finally retiring from National Auto in 2020. Cars were Lester’s greatest interest.  He could always be counted on to help maintain his family’s vehicles, and was very proud of his 1984 El Camino.  But this passion was surpassed by his love for his family.  He enjoyed spending time with everyone, whether on family camping trips, picnics, or simple visits on a Sunday afternoon.

Lester is survived by his sister, Marion Miller (Ray); daughters Deborah Jacobs (Tom) and Karen Mattern (James); grandchildren Garrett Hensley, Nathan Jacobs, Amy Andrules, Sophia Ingraham and Steven Ingraham; great-grandson Ryder Renninger.  He was predeceased by his eldest daughter Gayle Hensley (Darrell) earlier this year.  Lester was a gentle, kind-hearted man who enjoyed the simple things in life.  He leaves behind a family and friends who will miss him greatly.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton.
