Louis Cinfici Obituary

Louis Cinfici, 97, of Reading, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, at Encompass Health Rehabilitation

Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Morris Cinfici and Rose (Damato) Cinfici.

He was the loving husband of Nancy D. (Specht) Cinfici In addition to his wife, Lou is survived by his Son William D. Shunk, Jr. of Marysville, PA and His wife Barbara. He had 3 loving nieces Sonia Pennock, Michelle Strus, Maureen Speaks and one nephew Will Cinfici who reside in the Reading area. He was predeceased by his eight brothers and two sisters.

Lou was a medic in the U.S. Navy for 22 years retiring in 1968. He served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.  He graduated from Hershey Medical School and was a Physician Assistant and Medical Director at the Berks County Prison until his retirement in 1990.

Lou was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mohnton, PA; The Pennwyn Motor Association, in Mohnton; Lifetime member of the former Adamstown V.F.W.; Disabled Veterans of America Association; U.S.S. Sicily and the Kiwanis Club. Lou took up baking after his retirement and enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for special events and birthdays.

A memorial service is planned for August 6th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mohnton. Visitation at 10AM followed by a memorial service.
