Mark Edward Carl, 62, of Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 27, 2026 at the Reading Hospital.
Mark was the loving husband of Cathy (Ray) Carl of Reading. They were married on his birthday 31 years ago.
Born October 15th 1963, in Reading, he was the son of John A. Carl and the late Christine (Katarzyski) Carl.
Known to some as “Sparky” Mark was a 1981 graduate of Wilson School District. He was employed as a Graphic Designer by Colorworks Graphic Services from January 2011 to present.
Mark was the life of the party. He enjoyed playing golf, watching football and anytime spent with his family was something he loved most of all. Mark's favorite time of year was when it was time to start up the lawnmower, and he made sure everyone knew he did it. Luckily, he had done just that recently and was planning on cutting his lawn and a few of his neighbors lawns this week.
Mark was a member of the Sinking Spring VFW, the Pottstown German Club and a lifetime member of the West Lawn Quoting Associating.
Besides his wife Mark is survived by his father John A. Carl, Mohnton, two brothers Kenneth, husband of Judith Herbstreith, Hellertown, Robert, predeceased by his wife Sandy (Lutz), Sinking Spring and a sister Theresa (Carl) Lienti, wife of Robert Lienti, Wernersville, and three nieces Victoria, Taylor and Casey.
He was predeceased by a brother, John Carl, husband of Erin (Reed) Carl.
Friends may stop by to visit and offer condolences to the family anytime between the hours of 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the West Wyomissing Fire Company.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Mark’s honor to One By One Cat Rescue. 1by1catrescue.org or P.O. Box 272, Temple, PA 19560.
