Michael Lutz Obituary

Michael K. Lutz, 62, of Brecknock Twp., passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

He was the husband of Sherry A. (Ebersole) Lutz, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Leroy K. and Alberta C. (Frees) Lutz.

Mike was a 1977 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School.  After graduation he worked as a framing carpenter for Horning Construction then for RG Bortz Construction and was currently working as a custom millwork installer at HRT Installations.  He was a dedicated member of the Brecknock Twp. Fire Company, joining in 1979.  He was currently a Driver, but held various position over the years at the fire company including, Assistant Chief and Deputy Chief. 

Mike enjoyed hunting at his camp in Huntingdon County and going camping in Potter County and at Shady Oaks Camp Ground in Newmanstown.  He loved riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife Sherry are two children, Jason A., husband of Nicole M. Lutz of Morgantown and Joel B., husband of Ashlee L. Lutz of Mohnton.

Also surviving are his three grandchildren: Payton A., Carson J. and Kayleigh M. Lutz; and three siblings:  Kathleen Laudermilch of Muncy Valley; Norman, husband of Ann Lutz of Mohnton and Donald, husband of Donna Lutz of Denver.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Brecknock Twp. Fire Company, 1153 Kurtz Mill Road, Mohnton, PA 19540.
