Nancy Carol (Kunkelman) Geiss

Nancy Carol Geiss (Kundelman), widow of Lauer D. Geiss, daughter of the late Paul W., Sr. and Elizabeth (Devera) Kunkelman, passed way on Friday, May 26, 2023 at home.  She was a 1953 graduate of Reading High School.  Despite losing her husband at a young age, she lived a full and happy life.  

Nancy was a member of Zion E.C. Church in Mohnton serving as Board Secretary for 40 years, taught Sunday School for over 50 years and was active in many capacities over the years.  

Nancy was a Camp Fire Leader for over 15 years.  She was also an avid sports fan who loved football, the Flyers, but especially her Phillies.  She shared the love of sports with her children and grandchildren.  She could be found at all of the activities her children and grandchildren were involved in, sometime two or three a day.  

She was employed by V & S Sandwich shop for 15 years and than at American Bank, later Meridian, from which she retired.  Nancy was also a Board member with the Mohnton Family Swimming Association.

She is survived by her five children:  son, Larry Geiss and wife Barb and four daughters, Donna, widow of Raymond Sewell; Kathi, wife of William Caffrey; Jan, wife of Gregory Trievel and Laurie, wife of John Cummings.  Also surviving are ten grandchildren:  Matthew Conrad (Kristen), R. Douglas Sewell (Marcia), Alena Sweigart (Clinton), Mark Sewell, Elissa McCallum (Daniel, Jr.), Ian Caffrey, Allison Caffrey, Britni Trate (Scott), Kaitlin Geiss (Companion of Michael Himmelberger), and Caela Reigel (Zachary) and 11 great grandchildren who just adored her.  She was predeceased by one grandchild, Ryan Caffrey.  

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion E.C. Church, 57 N. Church Street, Mohnton, with Pastor Robert Shuey, officiating.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Interment will follow the service at Mohnsville Cemetery, Mohnton.
