Nancy Owen Stoudt passed away peacefully on July 29, 2022.
She was the daughter of the late Gwen and Ivor Owen, born on December 18, 1926 in Maesteg, Wales. She crossed the Atlantic to America with her family on the Aquitania when she was two years old. She grew up in New Philadelphia, PA with her two older brothers and two younger sisters. She graduated from Blythe Township High School, Class of 1944. In 1950, she married the late Morton G. Stoudt. They lived and raised their family in Pottsville, Reading and Spring Township. She was a talented hair stylist during her working years.
Nancy was predeceased by her son Gary Stoudt and her grandson Daniel Stoudt. She is survived by her sister Marilyn Mackey (John), sons Glenn Stoudt (Kathy) and David Stoudt (Andrea), her grandchildren Christopher Stoudt, Megan Dawson (Jared), Evan Stoudt (Andrea), Patrick Stoudt (Brittany), William Stoudt (Danielle), Oliver Stoudt and step-grandson Craig Whitmoyer (Jessica). She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Nancy loved music and sang in the choir at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sinking Spring where she was an active member for many years. She enjoyed a good joke and was a great baker, like her father, a family tradition. She proudly celebrated and preserved her Welsh heritage.
Nancy will be laid to rest on Saturday, August 20th in a private graveside service. She was loved by her many friends and family members and will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in her honor.
